Her parents were definitive middle-class people and she was raised with as much love as they could give. John Taylor grew up wanting more out of his life. He didn't have stable income parents and they were both alcoholics. He ended up living with his aunt and her husband in New Jersey from his mother's side when the addiction became too great for his parents. His life with his aunt and uncle was good and balanced, but he couldn't get it out of his mind that he had to achieve something greater. He did well in high school and along the way met Sarah Mizumi, a Japanese American in the same school. They connected over their family situations and big dreams: Her parents stayed in Japan and sent her off for a better life in America with her grandmother in New Jersey. They fell in love and eventually went to the same college: Rutgers University. Both of them wanted to stay local and marry each other after they achieved their dream jobs. John wanted to be a saxophone player while Sarah wanted to be a journalist. Unfortunately, as time went on, both of them realized how competitive both fields were. They would probably have to move to New York or another more "artistic" state in order to get any work. Instead, John decided to be an accountant and major in accounting while Sarah followed suit. They both graduated with degrees in Accounting and joined the same firm together in New Jersey. Shortly after, they had a baby girl who they named Reagan and lived their lives. Reagan grew up under the roof of two parents who did not have a lot of passion in their lives. Both of them slept in separate beds and gave up their dreams for a life of security. They still loved each other, but lost the fervor and passion that they once had when they still dreamed of music and writing. As Reagan grew up exposed to this life of boredom and security, she vowed that if she ever fell in love it would be the greatest and most intense love she could be in. She also vowed that she would never make her life as routine and mundane as her parents allowed theirs to be. In order to not be like her parents, she became as different and individualistic as she could be. Reagan dressed up in radical clothes and became determined to live the life she wanted. She would not allow her dreams to be thrown away for the sake of security. As a child, she was very intelligent and inquisitive, already contrasting with her parents. When she got to high school, she was stereotyped as a "goth" and only hung out with the eccentrics. Among those eccentrics was a boy named Gregory Sampson, and he struck her as so cool and artistic and revolutionary that they shortly dated. Reagan loved him, but after the honeymoon phase he became too dominant and wanted her to bend to his will. In reality, he only wanted to be the "man" in the relationship, but Reagan wouldn't allow it and tension arose between them. Eventually both of them broke up after a very heated and intense argument during the Senior Prom. Reagan ended up catering to her more lesbian nature, as she knew that she wanted to be the one to make the decisions in a relationship. She wanted to be the one to set the rules and protect her loved one. Girls allowed her to do that, and although she is still attracted to guys, she simply prefers girls. Reagan ended up going to college in Massachusetts to the all-girls school Simmons College. She had many flings with girls there, but only one of them was able to make it to steady girlfriend: Madison Pritchard. She was everything Reagan wanted in a girl: cute, soft, needing protection, lonely past, intelligent enough to hold her own...life was perfect. However, after a year Madison couldn't put up with Reagan's controlling and intense ways of love. She cheated on her with a man and left Reagan heartbroken. Upset and angry, Reagan just wanted college to be over; she passed the time by engaging in drinking and smoking among other drugs. Her addictive nature made this very easy. Eventually though, she received a degree in Visual Arts and desired to move to a small town. A town where she could shine in her individuality and forget about Madison...perhaps even find someone else. As she was looking around, she found Stony Brook. The magical feeling made Reagan fall in love with it right away and she moved into an apartment. She got two jobs: a tattoo artist by day and a bartender at night. Because of her visual arts talent, the tattoo artist job was perfect and because of her love of drinking and mixology, a bartender was also perfect. It would also allow her to meet people and tell stories and listen to theirs. Reagan's main goal however, is to find love. A love so intense and so passionate that it breaks boundaries. And hopefully she would find it in Stony Brook.
