~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Matt smiled. Today had been a good first day. She'd managed to help several customers, several of which made promises that they'd definitely back to her if they had any troubles. She'd never exactly been much of a people person, or at least not the way some people were. She'd met some people that could smile and say a few words and instantly make friends with someone. Despite the fact that she wasn't that sort of person, she thought she did fairly well. She might not have called everyone she'd met today a new friend, but she'd gotten on well enough with each of them and plus she just enjoyed being able to help people. It made her get chills and feel all tingly inside each time she was able to help someone and have them genuinely thank her.
It really was a shame that she had bills to pay and had to charge her customers. Just being able to help someone was reward enough for fixing computers, but if she helped everyone for free, then she'd have to close the shop and would be even further in debt than she already was. As it was, she could probably charge two or three times what she was asking for, but she just didn't have the heart to charge more for work she'd gladly do for free. Unfortunately, the world didn't revolve on karma points alone.
She inhaled deeply and left out a contented sigh as she wandered around. She was mostly just trying to explore the town a bit. She'd been so busy getting her store ready that she hadn't quite found the time to go exploring much so far. It was a quaint little town and charming in its own way. She very much preferred little towns to the hustle and bustle of the big city. If she liked the city she would have stayed in Boston, but that just wasn't the place for her. She could see making a home for herself here.
Somehow she'd managed to get lost in thought and ran into someone, literally. "Oh, I'm so sorry. Are you alright?" She asked as she heard her earrings jingling as she tilted her head to check the other person. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~CHILLIN WITH?!? [atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 318px; background-color: #f5f5f5;][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true] ROMEO, SAVE ME, ✄ - - THEY'RE TRYING TO TELL ME HOW TO FEEL. THIS LOVE IS DIFFICULT, BUT IT'S REAL. DON'T BE AFRAID, WE'LL MAKE IT OUT OF THIS MESS. IT'S A LOVE STORY, BABY, JUST SAY YES. OH OH - - Rosemary was dressed in pink today, a frilly little dress with long sleeves. It was a little chilly for a dress, but it was not as though Rosemary was going to give in to the cold before winter had even set in. Still, it was a lovely day, warmer than it had been a few days ago, and she was going to enjoy what nice weather there was while it lasted. Right now, though, she was in a bit of a hurry to get home for dinner. She thought that Grandma Helen was making something special, or at least that was what had been hinted at. The street was fairly crowded, and she was getting frustrated. In a fairly uncharacteristic move, Rosemary squeezed between two other pedestrians ... and ran smack dab into someone else. As small as she was, it wasn't really a surprise that Rosemary sort of bounced off the other person and landed on her rear end with an oof. Looking up, she blinked at the short haired blonde woman. "I think it's my fault," she said, tucking her legs under her so that she had a chance to get up without flashing her underthings to the whole street ... that was, if they hadn't seen them when she went down. Standing carefully, Rosemary dusted herself off and smiled nervously at the other woman. "I know I took the worst of it, but are you all right? I really am sorry; I should watch where I'm going." | [atrb=valign,top][atrb=style,width: 118px; background-color: #f5f5f5;][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true] THE WORDS 250 THE TAGS Matilda THE NOTES hope you enjoy! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Even when she went back and thought about it later on, Matt didn't quite know what happened. This pink puffball appeared out of nowhere. When she'd gotten a bitter look at the other girl, Matt couldn't help notice that she was pretty cute. She'd never been a fan of pink, but this other girl was quite delicate. She looked just like a little babydoll with her long blonde hair and the blue, doe like eyes. Matt couldn't help the wince that was on her face as the other girl fell back onto her bottom. Matt's arms had gone out to try and catch the girl, but she evidently fell faster than Matt could get her arms out.
She'd been about to hold out a hand to help the girl up, but the girl popped right back up clearly not needing the help. To be honest, it rather amazed Matt that the girl was so small. It made Matt feel tall which was saying something since Matt wasn't all that tall herself.
"I'm fine." Matt said when the other girl asked if she was okay. "What about you? You're the one that took the spill." She said. She couldn't help the smile that spread across her face. The pink puffball was the one that fell and yet she was asking Matt (who'd managed to stay on her feet) if she was alright. Matt tended to be a cynic (at least that's what people called her, though she preferred the term realist because people truthfully were wrapped up in themselves) so it was always a surprise to see someone genuinely concerned for someone else.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~CHILLIN WITH?!?
