Time portals have appeared all over the region of Lualdi, leading to some distant era in the past, or, less regularly, a desolate, barren wasteland that has been identified as Lualdi's future. Organizations have sprung up to avert the seemingly imminent apocalypse; others have fled the region to escape the approaching destruction, but some people want to see Lualdi go up in flames, and they consequently seek to subvert the efforts of any who try to stop the apocalypse.
Yet even when facing the end of the world itself, life in Lualdi seems to continue as normal. It's as though the future apocalypse has taken a back seat to its effects on the present-day.
After all, why worry? Everything in Lualdi was beautiful.
And nothing hurt.
